City representatives from the fields of economic and urban development as well as city planners and municipal companies such as energy suppliers are invited to go to our Worldcafés for an intensive, moderated exchange of experience and knowledge.

All Worldcafés start with 3 short input lectures of the respective hosts of the topic. Afterwards all participants will be divided into round tables where the discourse can be started. The participants change tables at least 3 times to deepen the discourse and to mix the groups. Please allow at least 2.5 hours for participation in the Worldcafés. In the last 30 minutes, the hosts will sum up the contents discussed in the large round again.

Design the cities of tomorrow in our interactive format!
You can participate in the SMART CITY SOLUTIONS as a participant in the Worldcafés and actively participate in the development of current topics.

Dr. Rüdiger-Walter Henn

“The MEC-View project aims to develop automated driving in complex urban areas by means of a novel roadside sensor system and mobile edge computing (MEC) server. For this, a local environment model is generated based on a high-precision digital map and is transmitted to the automated vehicles via a prototype 5G mobile network. The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) funds MEC-View.

M. Sc. Alanus von Radecki

Fraunhofer IAO

“Automated driving in complex urban environments is limited due to occlusions of relevant road users or obstacles – in these situations the performance of vehicle bound surround sensor systems is limited as a matter of principle, which either cannot be compensated by car-2-car connectivity in scenarios of incomplete sensing capability and/or connectivity of the overall vehicle fleet.
